MAP at Mendell Plaza on Saturday July 20th!


This Saturday MAP will be setting up a new interactive seed planting installation at Mendell Plaza in collaboration with Bayview Opera House and Barbary Coast Amusements for an event titled “Just Add Water”. This programming was made possible through funding from the Zellerbach Family Foundation. Details are below, hope to see you there!

Play streets San Francisco will be underway at the same time, great fun for all!

Saturday July 20. Mendel Plaza Oakdale and 3rd St. Bayview

Performance Times: Noon and 1pm

Fun for all ages!  FREE

Interactive Seed Planting 12-4pm Presented by Mobile Arts Platform.

Through the magic of song, circus arts, dance and water itself, Barbary Coast Amusements takes the audience on a journey to discover that one little bit of the bayside can stretch to accommodate not only two fools, but a vision of the whole wide world. Jetsam and Flotsam are portrayed by local Circus performers Natasha Kaluza and Jamie Coventy. This talented duo will make a big splash on the Plaza performing the music of Johannes Mager and all under the direction of Edris Cooper –Anifowoshe. Written by Caroline Myers and David Hyman this exciting co-production with the Bay View Opera House, Mobile Arts Platform and Barbary Coast Amusements will deliver a memorable and fun afternoon. Play Streets will be on site too and a portion of Oakdale St will be closed to traffic. WE will be playing in the streets.
